Welcome to the Castle

The Castle team welcome you to the Award Winning Castle, Bedford.
 
The Castle is a 19th Century traditional family run Inn which is situated in the Castle Quay part of Bedford, close to the River Ouse, Bedford's Cecil Higgins Museum and a five minute walk to Bedford Blues rugby ground as well as a few minutes walk from the main Bedford High Street.
 
The Castle is your village pub in the centre of town, we offer a warm, relaxing and friendly welcome as well as home made food, traditional Sunday Roast, fine wines, and eight regularly changing cask ales.
 
There is an enclosed outside courtyard area for the summer months, as well as a large car park. Dogs are welcome in the pub outside of food times.
 

Functions

 
We can cater for functions too, we do not have a separate function room, but if you are looking for somewhere to have a small celebration, leaving do, or even a wake we can supply a either a Buffet Menu to suit your needs.

If you are looking for accommodation in Bedford, this family run bed and breakfast has five ensuite guest rooms that are fittingly named after famous British Castles, they including a twin room, three doubles, family room with adjoining room with bunk beds and one room adapted for disabled or wheelchair users. All rooms have flat screen TV with Freeview, DVD and Free Wi-Fi access. Tea and coffee-making facilities and just as importantly a warm welcome from our team.

 

Entertainment & Themed Nights

 

Check our events page for What's On at The Castle, with Live music, Open Mic Night every Monday,  6 O'Clock Record Night, as well as Pie Night and Steak and Gourmet Burger Night once a month.   We also have large plasma screens where we can show selected live sports (but we're not a sports orientated pub!)
